In the Spring 2025 edition of Health Science Magazine, Ruki Sidhwa, a certified Naturopathic Health Coach, shares her journey of embracing her family's natural hygiene legacy. As the youngest daughter of the late Dr. Keki Sidhwa, a pioneering naturopath and longtime NHA conference lecturer, Ruki reflects on her upbringing at Shalimar Health Home, where she and her sisters grew up assisting in the clinic and learning the principles of natural health.
Despite initially pursuing a career as a factual TV producer and director in the UK, Ruki felt a calling to continue her father's work. After retraining as a naturopathic health coach at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London, she founded Sidhwa Health—Nature’s Way, aiming to empower individuals to take control of their health through natural methods.
Ruki's health coaching philosophy emphasizes small-step lifestyle changes in areas such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, and mental and gut health. Drawing from her own experiences as a lifelong vegetarian, athlete, and advocate for outdoor living, she encourages clients to respect and work with nature to reduce the likelihood of illness and disease.
In her article, Ruki also highlights the increasing prevalence of illness and mental health issues in society, stressing the importance of natural approaches to wellness. She believes that by understanding the root causes of health problems and adopting natural remedies, individuals can lead happier, healthier lives with less reliance on prescription medications.
